The following describes a Windows OS change, which can sometimes cause USB application error "A device which does not exist was specified". The same setting can cause other unexpected USB application behavior as well, and may be worth a try if you're seeing USB application behavior which is unexpected while using an AnywhereUSB Plus product.
To make the change which has been known to resolve at least one such instance of "A device which does not exist was specified" with a customer's application (which was trying to access a SH-UR01A USB Relay UART, which has a Silicon Labs CP2102N Serial Chip embedded within it).
*** For CP210x UARTs, the solution is to uncheck the "Allow Computer to turn off device to save power" box in Windows Device Manager for each of the USB-Serial devices, then reboot the PC to enable the configuration change.
The following procedure would be performed on a Windows PC/server where AnywhereUSB Manager is being used to connect with an AnywhereUSB Plus hub:
1. Go into Windows OS --> Device Manager
2. Find the listing of USB devices
3. Select "Properties"
4. Find the "Power Management" (or "Power Events") tab
5. Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" (see below)
6. Change this setting for each USB-serial device connected.
7. Reboot the PC (where AnywhereUSB Manager is running), then retest.
